It's July, my last month in Aussie! I had so much to cross off of my todo list with so little time. My Canadian friends had even less time than me, so I ended up going back to Byron Bay with them again for good measures. I'm glad that I did...
Byron Bay, NSW
July 6th - 7th, 2013
Getting to Byron Bay was a bit of a trek this time. Anya and Nate left rented a car and drove down on the 5th. I didn't want to miss work, so I booked a Greyhound ticket that left at 7:00AM from Roma Street Station. To add to the fact that the bus left so early, I went out the night before with my United Kingdom mates (see image left). Needless to say, it was a challenge. I made it there and took the nearly 4hr bus ride from Brisbane to Byron. Yes I slept most of the way. Duh!
Upon arriving in Byron, I met up with my two maple syrup loving friends. We stayed at the same hostel as last time which was just a short walk from the bus stop.Although we were only there for a short quick two days, it didn't feel rushed because I had done much of what I wanted to do last month when I was there.
The first day we just headed to the beach with a few boards to attempt to surf again, only when I got there I decided that it was too cold for that ish. I opted for laying on the beach instead. In the sun it wasn't too cold to be out on the shore. That night we went back to Beloporto Burger Bar, sooooo good!
"Right around the corner from Beloporto is a clothing store that we went to the last time we were in Byron. The cashier dude happened to be from Canada, so we talked to him for a bit about living in Byron and such. Turns out he was an up and coming musician. I say all that to say I saw him performing that night not far from the clothing store. He's a cool person and talented musician. You should check em' out: Garrett Kato"
The second and final day there, we headed to the beach for one last time. Before heading out we stopped at the Byron Bay markets. Apparently Byron Bay has a pretty established and famous market. There were all sorts of vendors selling foods, crafts, apparel and even tire furniture!
