It's technically not "moving day" as I write this post, but I've changed the date manually so that it sorta is. Now that I've thrown out that disclaimer, this is going to be about me moving from Indooroopilly to South Bank.

during packing |
Today was moving day. Because I'm a bit of a procrastinator, I had to do all of the packing this morning when I woke up. I had only been staying with my boss' family for a little over two weeks. However, I unpacked most of my things. If you've done any traveling for an extended period of time, you know how annoying it is to live out of suitcases. It took a while to get all of my clothes sorted from the closet/wardrobe into my luggage, but I found it easier to do then when I left the states because I didn't have to worry about airline weight restrictions.

after packing |
With the help of the Mrs., I loaded up the boot/trunk of the car and headed to South Bank. When she dropped me off, it was a bitter sweet moment. I felt like my mom was dropping me off at USC freshmen year. Although I am so grateful for them opening up their home to me, I was ready to be on my own in the land down under.

after being dropped off - lobby of Urbanest |
With my luggage, I walked from the car to the lobby to get my keys (which is actually a security key card) and sign the paperwork. It was an easy process. I'm one of those people that need to know everything, so I may have made it more difficult for the staff with all of the questions that I asked. Oh well, that's what they're paid for. Right?
"If ya don't know, then ya better ask somebody"
I had previosly seen the rooms at
Urbanest before on the internet, during a tour and when a fellow USC student moved in a few days earlier. However, I was still excited that this was where I was going to be living for the next few months. It's def not one of the cheaper accommodations available, but after talking with different people I decided that the area and the possible friends that I could make is worth the expense.

I've already attended a free BBQ, met a few of the residents from around the world and explored the South Bank area. It's just really cool that everything is right outside my flat/apartment door. Can't wait to see what the next few months living here will have in store for me...
Goodnight world,
